Mercedes-Benz Creates C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition

It has been stated numerous times that the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG is one of the best, if not the best, performance sedan on the market. The looks, the power and the noise that is produced by that monstrous 6.2-liter V8 are all sensationally stimulating. Add all that to the P31 Development Package and the base C63 turns into a rocket, capable of burning the rear tires away in a matter of minutes.

As good as all that sounds, the Canadians are about to get a machine that’s even better. It’s called the Affalterbach Edition, which was named after AMG’s hometown in Germany. This special edition Mercedes receives a unique Magno Allanite Grey paint scheme with red brake calibers, 19-inch black alloy wheels, carbon fiber mirror shells and a lip spoiler.

The motor remains the same, the 6.2-liter V8 that offers 481 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque, which is enough power to propel the sedan from 0-62 miles per hour in just 4.4 seconds. This means that all the new exterior goodies will be accompanied by serious grunt and speed.

Once inside the tastefully designed German cockpit, one can gaze upon the Affalterbach logo displayed on the gearshift lever and on the headrests, and red contrast stitching on the black AMG Nappa leather sport seats. This design goes hand in hand with the carbon-fiber trim, floor mats with red leather piping and the Affalterbach badge.

This $81,500 C63 comes with many different standard features, included a rear view camera, COMAND APS with navigation system, harman/kardon LOGIC7 surround sound system, a rear window sunshade and KEYLESS-GO.

Only 30 of these wonderful machines will be made and they will go on sale in Canada in the spring of 2011, so be sure to reserve one soon before they’re sold out.
