KTM X-Bow For Sale In United States As Kit Car

The KTM X-Bow, which was once a European toy, is now for sale in the United States as a kit car that will come with an Audi engine.

There have been many people around the United States that have seen the world’s famous TV show Top Gear, and long for a chance to drive the KTM X-Bow. Yet, no matter how many Americans begged and pleaded, the KTM was a European toy and not something for American use.

While that still might be true, the people at British Racing Group LLC, have thought up a way to get the car to the United States. They will ship most of the car to our shores as a kit car, with an Audi 2.0-liter turbocharged engine at the back.

So, while KTM isn’t technically selling the X-Bow in the United States, one can still purchase the frame. Once the car is compete, simply call an Audi dealer or supplier of choice to get a powertrain. After it’s all said and done, the KTM X-Bow will be ready to tear up the streets, as it will be legal as a special construction vehicle.

Once the KTM X-Bow is assembled and ready for use, one should be able to hit 60 miles per hour in just 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 180 miles per hour. Unless the buyer is an engineer, we wouldn’t advise going that quickly anywhere, for fear that something might fall off.

The Audi 2.0-liter turbocharged engine will pump out 237 horsepower and 228 pound-feet of torque, while being connected to a six-speed manual or a DSG transmission. All of this power will be able to move the 1,500-pound KTM like a mini rocket powered go-kart.

The company has yet to issue a price for this kit-car KTM X-Bow, but it’s hard to imagine it being unobtainable. Once the company decides on the price, Torque News will be here, ready to report it.
