Ferrari 458 Italia Involved In Another Crash
Sometimes it can be tough to love the auto industry, as sometimes people do stupid thing to gorgeous vehicles. These situations make us cringe, but that’s life and no matter how bad it is, one can be glad it wasn’t there vehicle that got damaged.
In this unique event, a Ford F-150 pickup truck decided to park itself on top of a beautiful Italian Ferrari 458 Italia. So, it seems that not only do these supercars catch fire, but they also attract trucks and the crazy people that drive them.
As one can see from the video, the truck is resting its front wheel on the front of the red Ferrari. It’s hard to believe that the driver of the truck didn’t see the Ferrari, but one never knows in this unique event.
What makes this situation odd is the fact that the people around the event or the driver of the Ferrari and the Ford didn’t remove the truck from the hood of the Ferrari. Instead, they chose to leave it there and why not? It makes for a good YouTube video.
The 458 Italia was officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show and it packs some serious punch. Under the hood is a 4.5-liter V8 with 560 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The standard transmission is a Getrag dual-clutch 7-speed transmission, the same gearbox that is in the Ferrari California. Pushed to the limited, and without a truck on its hood, the 458 can hit 60 miles per hour in just 3.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 202 miles per hour.
On the 24th August 2010, BBC News reported that ten 458s had either crashed or caught fire in just three months. Now, it seems the BBC can add one more to that crashed list.
