First Fiat 500 Commercial Launched

For the first time ever in the United States, Fiat has released a full length commercial for the new 500.

The ad is basically an Italian montage, with feel good imagery and a desire to embrace the passion of life. That being said, the ad fails to mention much about the car itself, although that seems to be the case with most auto advertisements in this day and age.

The video seems a little short on footage of the actual 500 on the road and considering it’s a very important car for Fiat, as it marks the automakers re-entry into the United States, it seems odd that they would leave out vehicle information and footage of it on the road.

The new 500 will hit showrooms next spring and rival the Mini Cooper and the Smart forTwo. Fiat will offer up three trim levels – Pop, Sport and Lounge – and all will be powered by a 1.4-liter motor with 101 horsepower and 98 pound-feet of torque. That motor will be offered with a five-speed manual, which would be preferred given the lower power numbers, or a six-speed automatic.

The 500 will cost $15,500.
