700 HP Pagani Huayra To Be Sold In United States

For the first time ever, Pagani will sell a vehicle in the United States and the Huayra is that lucky supercar.

The new Pagani Huayra has already generated quite a bit of media buzz. From being featured in numerous automotive websites, to an interesting stint on Top Gear, Pagani has been able to generate a serious amount of exhilaration about its new supercar.

It has been known since the car was first shown that it would be sold in Europe, as most Pagani models are. Yet, it remained unclear, at least until now, if the Huayra would come to the United States market.

Today, Pagani announced that the Huayra would be sold in the United States, marking the first time that a Pagani model was offered on our shores. The Zonda, Pagani’s first model, never came to America, choosing to live its life out in Europe. That being said, there are a few that have managed to find their way into the hands of some private collectors.

"We are thrilled at the opportunity to represent the Pagani brand in the United States and we look forward to the successful launch of the Huayra," said Horacio Pagani regarding the announcement. "This automobile is the result of five years of dedicated effort from the Pagani team and we see this as an unprecedented opportunity to continue expanding our vision of the future for the supercar industry."

The new Pagani Huayra features numerous interesting characteristics, starting with the name, which comes from the ancient god of wind. The styling of the car is a massive leap forward over the Zonda, but it’s hard to see a real design improvement. The Huayra is more curvaceous than the previous model, but does it look better?

Under the hood will be where the magic happens, as the Pagani Huayra packs 700 raging Italian horses from its twin-turbocharged V12. Add that to a curb weight of 3000 pounds and Pagani has developed a car that is ready to compete at Daytona.

Pagani will announce plans to unveil the Huayra in the United States, as well as release more information on its dealer network at a later date.
