2012 Volkswagen Beetle Given Away to Oprah's Audience

Despite the release date being months away, the 2012 Volkswagen Beetle is headline news, as Oprah gave them away during her show on Monday.

The Beetle is one of the most historical vehicles of all time and has sold millions throughout the world. With a new version on the way, what better way to kick things off than a giveaway on the most popular talk show in the United States?

Oprah gave away 275 VW Beetles to audience members

Oprah's audience was thrilled after the VW Beattle giveaway was announced. There are 275 cars in this giveaway. The new model is been upgraded with new technology and a better look.

The 2012 Beetle will get a more aggressive design, with sharper angles and a stronger stance. The front end takes some design cues from the current Volkswagen lineup, while still holding onto the circular headlights. Despite this design update, the Beetle should be instantly recognizable to anybody that sees it.

Under the hood, the 2012 Beetle should pack a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, as well as a TDI version and a hybrid option. There is even a chance that the diesel motor could find it’s way into the convertible Beetle, making it the first ever open-top diesel in the United States.

The new Beetle should launch next year and it might just debut at the New York Auto Show in April.

It looks like Oprah Winfrey not only gave away the car but also introduced the 2012 Volkswagen Beetle. What a clever marketing campaign by WV. Where else, but at Oprah's show to introduce a new car?
You can go to his Twitter feed and find out how: http://twitter.com/#!/search/%2320CocoCars. Also, I hope the VW Beetle giveaway works out better than the Pontiac G6 giveaway did! And, remember, VW is giving away 275 cars on Oprah - she's not giving them away. Audience is stuck for the taxes, too. This was a very timely post.
