New video of the 2013 SRT Viper clearing its throat at Moparpalooza

Moparpalooza took place yesterday at Fair Oaks Motors in Chantilly Virginia and one of the star attractions at the big Mopar show was the 2013 SRT Viper – and as the new supercar was leaving one opportunistic videographer got footage of the 2013 Viper starting, idling, revving and driving away.

This video, which was posted online by YouTube user RealMCR12, begins with a walkaround of the beautiful deep metallic red 2013 SRT Viper GTS that debuted at the 2012 New York Auto Show. About 30 seconds in, you hear an engine revving but it’s the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 pulling away in front of the Viper. We get our first good example of the Viper V10’s grumble when it roars to life around the 1:10 mark and the videographer hangs out around the rear end of the new Viper GTS as it continues to purr like a 640 horsepower kitten. The Viper then scoots around a bit as “that guy” runs up and demands a picture as the Viper starts to pull away. During this session of stupidity, at least we get to hear the V10 rumble as the Viper pulls forward and then has to back up so that the annoying guy in the blue shirt slows things down so that he can take a picture with his iPhone.

The 2013 SRT Viper then pulls away, stopping alongside a gorgeous Panther Pink and matte black Dodge Neon SRT4 for a photo op while the Viper and the high performance compact rev back and forth at each other. Unfortunately, as the driver of the Viper GTS rolls away, he does so very (very very) gently so we don’t get to hear any awesome wide open throttle or even mild acceleration sounds. However, as a diehard Mopar fan, seeing a short video of the new 2013 Viper in action is better than no video of the Viper in action. This is also one of the best videos that we have seen thus far of the new Viper out in the wild – even if only in the parking lot of a car show and while loading into the large, enclosed car hauler. Also, this video really just shows how the spectacular metallic red paint of the GTS glows – even in video.

There is also a second video from YouTube user RealMCR12 showing the 2013 SRT Viper loading into the hauler with more exhaust tone samples – including some low revs as the supercar eases onto the ramp and then into the trailer. Two thumbs up to RealMCR12 for capturing this great piece of Viper video footage.

So, make sure that your speakers are turned up…and enjoy the videos below of the 2013 SRT Viper.
