Mercedes-Benz got its name from founder Carl Benz. The word “Mercedes” comes from the 10-year-old daughter of a car buyer Emil Jellinek. He was an early customer of the Gottlieb Daimler and ordered a custom-built car that he named after his daughter, Mercedes.

In the 2012 model-year most Mercedes-Benz vehicles will be equipped with a more fuel-efficient 7-speed automatic transmission and increased power from direct-injection gasoline engines. That includes a new turbo four-cylinder, a normally aspirated V6 and bi-turbo V8s – some with ECO Stop/Start technology. Yesterday we covered the C-Class through E-Class lineup and continue today starting with the E-Class sedan and wagon.

For the Stateside customers, the wagon variant of the Mercedes E 63 AMG was a forbidden. Not anymore starting with this October, as Mercedes-Benz intends to launch this model in the USA as well.
