New XSE trim will make the 2015 Camry the best Camry ever

Buyers of the 2015 Toyota Camry XSE will no longer have to choose between the sporty SE and luxurious XLE trims. They can have it all.

The 2015 Toyota Camry will have a new look and many mechanical changes when it arrives this fall. Although it will not be a completely new car, the refreshed Camry will adopt the looks that have been so successful on the Corolla and Avalon. Most importantly, the new Camry will have a new trim level that combines the best of the sporty SE, and the best of the luxury XLE trims. We predict that this new trim will prove to be the best Camry ever built.

The new 2015 Toyota Camry XSE will benefit from the fact that fully 45% of buyers have been choosing the SE sport trim. That incorporates a more aggressive look that transforms the Camry from stodgy to snappy. The 2015 Camry XSE will have stylish and functional 18 inch alloy wheels. When it was announced at the New York Auto Show, company general manager, Bill Fay, revealed that the XSE will also have “an enhanced suspension make this the sportiest Camry yet.” Moving the Camry in this direction is going to continue the trend of lowering the Camry’s average buyer-age. Currently, the Camry SE’s buyer is 12 years younger than the segment’s average. Car companies like to keep the average buyer’s age lower because it means that the buyer has more years in the brand, and also can graduate to a more expensive car like the Avalon later.

2015 Camry XSE Luxury Appointments
With regard to the luxury part of the XSE, Toyota promises the Camry will offer the most premium interior in the segment. That is quite a statement given the fact that the Accord, Altima, Sonata, Fusion, Chrysler 300 segment already boasts a very plush level of refinement in top interior trims. One way that Toyota is planning to up the ante is with better audio and information technologies and larger screens. The XSE will have infotainment screens as large as 7 inches. There will also be an additional 4.2 inch multi-informational screen. This will be located directly in front of the driver in the gage cluster. The combination of these large screens and JBL premium audio will rival many European premium cars costing $10K to $15k more than the Camry.

Camry V6 Will Offer Much More Power than Mercedes or Audi for the Dollar
Another ace in the hole that the 2015 Toyota Camry XSE will offer is an available V6 engine. Sadly, more and more manufacturers are turning to smaller turbocharged engines that are not producing the power of the V6 engines they replace. The Camry too will have a turbocharged engine option soon, but for 2015 the excellent 268 horsepower, 3.5 liter V6 also found in both of Lexus’ most popular vehicles will remain Camry’s top engine. This engine makes the Camry one of the quickest sedans in the market at its price point. Coupled to the 6 speed transmission, and shifted using the steering wheel mounted paddles if one chooses, the V6 Camry will be capable of delivering the performance and refinement found in higher priced, front drive vehicles like the Audi A4 2.0 and Mercedes CLA.

Safety of the 2015 Toyota Camry
The Camry currently has the highest possible safety rating. That is the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s Top Safety Pick +. The Camry can be had with all of the most important safety innovations available such as forward collision prevention, lane departure alert, and rear cross-traffic alert.

When the 2015 Toyota Camry XSE arrives later this year it will undercut the prices of similarly sized and equipped cars like the (front wheel drive) Mercedes CLA and Audi A4 while providing more power and more refinement. This is what leads us to proclaim it will be quickly gain a reputation as the best Camry ever built.
