In Depth Pricing for the 2015 Ford Mustang GT Premium Fastback

While we have previously looked at the basic pricing breakdown for the 2015 Ford Mustang in all trims, the full configurator for the next generation Mustang is live on Ford’s site – giving us a chance to price out our dream 2015 Mustangs and begin trimming expenses for the big purchase.

As we reported a few weeks back, the 2015 Ford Mustang GT Premium Fastback carries a starting price of $36,925 and that includes the $825 destination fee and the standard 6-speed manual transmission. Opting for the 6-speed automatic transmission raised the base price to $37,295. Regardless of the transmission chosen, the 401A equipment group adds a Shaker Pro Audi sound system, driver’s seat memory and Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Alert. For my money, I would opt for the manual transmission and I don’t think that I would go for the 401A package since I don’t need those gadgets or that sound system – so my ideal 2015 Mustang GT Premium Fastback would start with a price of $36,925 when heading into the options page.

When you get to the options, the first choice that you need to make for your 2015 Ford Mustang GT Premium Fastback is the exterior color and there are ten options – Guard, Triple Yellow, Magnetic, Deep Impact Blue, Ruby Red, Competition Orange, Race Red, Ingot Silver, Oxford White and Black. Triple Yellow adds $495 to the price and Ruby Red adds $395, but all of the other colors are included for the base price. I love the look of the new bright metallic yellow, but I would go with Competition Orange if I were ordering a new Mustang.

Picking Your Exterior Options
There are three exterior options for the 2015 Mustang GT Premium Fastback including the 50 Years Appearance Package ($1,595), the Enhanced Security Package ($395) and the GT Performance Package ($2,495) while there are also three stand alone options – a Reverse Sensing System ($295), a Spare tire package ($195) and a spoiler delete that is free of charge in addition to being part of the GT Performance Package. You can combine the GT Performance Package with the 50 Years Appearance Package in the configurator but considering that they both include unique wheels, I imagine that this is a mistake that will eventually be fixed. The other features of the two packages should be able to go together with no problem, but it will be interesting to see what Ford does about the wheel issue for those who want the 50 Years features and the go-fast goodies of the Performance Package. There are also a couple different wheel options, but if you pick the 50 Year package or the GT Performance package, you get a specified set of wheels.

When you add in both of those packages with the security package and the reverse sensing package, the price of the Mustang GT Premium Fastback climbs to $41,705. For my money, I would want the Performance Package and the security package, but not the 50 Years Package or the reverse sensing system so my dream Mustang would sit at $39,815 after exterior options.

Onto the Interior Goodies
Those buyers building their 2015 Ford Mustang GT Premium Fastback online will find that the interior options are heavily limited towards the technology end of things. Options include an Adaptive Cruise Control system ($1,195), all weather floor mats ($95), Voice Activated Navigation ($795) and Recaro race seats ($1,595). There are some other interior options like the 50th anniversary leather seats, Shaker Pro Audio system and HD Radio, but those seats are only available with the 50 Years package and those audio goodies are only available if you opt for the 401A package rather than the 2015 Mustang GT Premium Fastback’s “base” 400A package. I would opt for the navigation and the beautiful Recaro seats in addition to the GT Performance Package, bringing the price of my Mustang GT up to $42,205.

What is Top Dollar for the 2015 Mustang GT Premium Fastback?
Just to get an idea of how much someone could conceivably spend on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT Premium Fastback, I went through the configurator and picked all of the options that I could. When you pick the automatic transmission (which prevents you from picking the GT Performance Package), the 401A equipment group, the Triple Yellow paint, the 50 Years package, enhanced security, reverse sensing, the spare tire and every interior option available with the 50 Year package, the price tops out at $44,975 for the fastback. If you don’t go for the 50 Year package with the automatic transmission, you can add 20 inch wheels that lift the price by $1,295 and the Recaro seats for a total price of $46,075.

The pre-ordering of a Mustang isn't very straight forward. The dealer is giving one set of options available and the Ford "Build and Price" website shows differently. One of them is the leather interior options, the Ford website makes no mention of a Dark Saddle, Cermanic or Black color options. And from what I've been able to find that some of the leather interiors are only available to certain exterior paint colors. And if you want the 19" gloss black wheels, they are only available for the Performance package. And the Performance package is locked to the manual transmission. What is with all of these restrictions? So what if a customer would rather have the 19" gloss black wheels with a automatic transmission, they are just friggin' wheels. How about giving them Dark Saddle leather interior with Ruby Red exterior paint? I'm cooresponding with a dealer about these matters and they are confused also. Makes pre-ordering very daunting.

to import any car in india which is not launched in india we have to pay 100% tax of the price. If i bring a car of worth 44,000$ i have to pay additional 44,000$ and plus regestration charges extra etc.
