Honda 2015 Fit: Limited dealership supply as buyer anticipation grows

Talk about limited supply, we spoke Wednesday with 2 top volume Oregon Honda dealers. Looking for a 2015 Fit? Torque News takes a close look at the numbers.

As emails from San Francisco Bay Honda fans flooded our inbox Wednesday Morning, we were assured by more than one happy 2015 Fit Buyer that the all new Fit was available in Auburn, Berkeley, El-Cerrito and San Francisco, California.

While yesterdays' article penned about the 2015 Fit was being responded to by Torque News readers, I didn’t have the heart to inform them that the Pacific Northwest doesn’t extend as far south as San Francisco. And certainly can’t be included in the Auburn foothills of the southeastern Sierra Mountain range.

None the less, it was reassuring to us that the tardy 2015 Honda Fit had been sighted in the Bay Area. Our congratulations to reader Ryan. He bought a Silver EX-L yesterday, we hope to read about his ownership experience soon.

The bottom line: If you want a 2015 Honda Fit, get in line, it will be a few weeks before Honda comes up to production speed in Celaya, Mexico. We’re excited about the totally redesigned Fit. So is Portland, Oregon’s Ron Tonkin Honda. Ron Tonkin is the largest Honda dealership in the Portland Metro Area. With only two 2013 Honda Fits remaining in stock, General Sales Manager Patrick Spencer looks forward to taking delivery of the 2015 Fit.

Here's the hook. According to Patrick, Tonkin will receive only one 2015 Fit on Friday the 13th. The following week they will receive 1 more. A teaser as you will in the world of automotive marketing.

This may perhaps be a brilliant move on behalf of American Honda. The most anticipated sub-compact car in Honda history will trickle in one car at a time for the first 2 weeks. After that? who knows, Honda’s not saying.

Today we spoke with our contact at Kendall Auto Group, the 9th largest in the nation and Western Oregon’s largest Honda dealership. Paul doesn't know when they’ll receive their first 2015 Fit. He’s excited about the new car and shares with us that he has no problem selling the Fit in Eugene, Or. With eighteen 2013 Fits in stock, Kendell may be the ticket for those looking for a discount deal on a new Fit.

Once again as stated Tuesday, We believe that the 2015 Fit is being staged by American Honda to dominate the North American sub-compact hatchback segment.

Greater interior space, more power and handling performance and a favorable price-point adds up to an exceptional value in a tech-rich, fun to drive, low maintenance and high resale residual 5 door Hatch.
We’ll keep you posted as the story develops

Damn auto correct. That should of read HONDA FIT EX - L. Lol. I saw my local dealership had 2 fits in their inventory so I booked an online test drive, only to be told they are future stock and not really here but in 'transit'.
Has any one seen the berry colored one?

Took mine home yesterday! NOT easy getting my hands on that thing. I had my name into every dealership in my area and ran to the first one that called me on my lunch break at work. By end of day, they were gone.

Worth the hassle and the wait however. This car is AMAZING. A completely different ride than the 2013. Solid, smooth, quiet, and it feels twice as big on the inside than it looks from the outside. I think I'm going to be driving it for many years to come.

Congratulations Lauren. We believe that the 2015 Fit will be Honda's next big success story. 48% of my readers are progresive women like yourself. They're tech-savy, fasion concious and love to drive. Enjoy your new Fit. I'll be driving one this afternoon.

Drove the first one in Lincoln, NE yesterday had to make an appointment people were waiting and driving in from around the state to get their hands in it. We were impressed with the new one compared to the 2012 used demo we test drove a few weeks ago, and it was a great car. We signed up for one, one being build at the factory now that the dealer had pre ordered some time ago. Said we should have early July. Just looks like a great car for the money.

We picked up our EX-L last night, what a great ride! Love the CVT, lots of pep and the paddle shifters is great when you feel sporty. I ran it through the gears and it responded quite nicely!

I was told on june 16 th that if I put down a deposit it would make honda realize I wanted the car so I did and that they would get one in for me by now and one month later I have been told by my dealer that they would refund my money because they have dont even have a soft never mind hard eta for the car. Honda I hope you are enjoying pissing people off making them wait and not releasing info. Expecting my car to be in soon I sold my current car and am going to look at other car manufacturers and will more than likely never to buy a Honda ever. Also give your dealerships more info about cars than in transit (apparently your definition spans not being built yet to in transit to dealer, absolute BS)

I ordered my wife a Milano Red 2015 Fit EXL/Navi There are 0 available to even look at in our area. No one has even seen a Milano Red or Yellow one. I was told it could be 4 weeks to 3 months to get the car, at this point It looks more like 3 months. I do enjoy reading comments from those lucky enough to have theirs already :) Ordered July 16th

We really had the 2015 Honda fit at the top of our list, but there are none to be found, we can't even go for test drives. Dealer would take our money and put us on a list. No thanks! Honda should do better on meeting consumer demand with this model.

I am NW subs of Chicago. I put money down on a Blue LX on one the dealership already had on order to be built within Aug 25 to Sept 5. As of last week it had a VIN number and expected arrival date of 10/18. Seriously? I takes 6 weeks for delivery after production? I understand they are coming from Mexico, but still? Nothing takes 6 weeks anymore. It's very frustrating.

I was told that my passion-berry 2015 EX would be arriving in 7 to 10 business days, because it was "in transit." The bank has paid the dealer in full, and it's been 11 business days. I received an uneasy sounding voicemail from my salesguy that he last heard it was "still on the train coming from the manufacturer." I wonder how long it's REALLY going to be?

Our new 2015 FIT took more than 8 weeks to arrive after the dealer said two weeks. But well worth the wait a really nice car!!!!
