As one of the most spacious and elegant blends of luxury and high performance on the market, the 2014 Audi SQ5 will most likely be thought a great value with prices starting at $51,900.

As the first S variant of any of Audi's crossover vehicles, Audi intends to set the bar high for this new model. Consequently, its supercharged 3.0-liter TSFI direct injection V6 powerplant delivers 354 highly satisfying horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque.

With a zero to 60 acceleration time of 5.1 seconds, the SQ5 has a top speed of 155 mph. The SQ5 adds to the current Q lineup comprised of the highly efficient Q5 TDI clean diesel, along with 2.0T, 3.0T and hybrid variants.

The engine output is channeled through the eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, to enable the superior traction and handling of the Audi quattro all-wheel drive system.

The 2014 Audi SQ5, like all models in the Q5 line, feature an innovative roof rack system linked to the Electronic Stability Control. If the crossbars are installed, driving dynamics are adjusted to relevant parameters based on the center of gravity. Without the crossbars, the system enables a more dynamic program to allow truly spirited driving.

Inside the SQ5 is spacious and sporty, alu-optic shift paddles adorning the three-spoke, custom stitched, articulated flat-bottom steering wheel. Gray gauge faces sport white analog needles, while the pedals are shorn with aluminum inserts, complimenting the SQ5 leather and aluminum shift knob.

Leather/Alcantara sport seats are standard and Fine Nappa interior and comfort package (Milano leather seats when equipped with ventilated comfort seats) is available. New layered aluminum and black wood inlays are also available in the SQ5.

Outside the gracefully sloped roof of the Audi SQ5 are echoed by aluminum roof rails, while 20-inch wheels come standard with an option of 21-inch wheels.

The SQ5 has the S model front and rear bumpers with a platinum gray grille, aluminum side mirror housings and quad exhaust tips. Additionally, its distinctive looks are augmented by Audi Xenon self-leveling headlights and LED running lights.

As for tech and telematics, the 2014 Audi SQ5 offers the best and brightest of both, starting with Audi advanced keyless start, stop and entry standard on the SQ5.

Audi side assist monitors blind spot areas, and fast-approaching vehicles, up to 150 feet behind the car – is available as an option on Premium plus models, available later than the base models.

Audi adaptive cruise control is also available, but perhaps best of all is the optional Bang & Olufsen sound with 14 speakers, iPod integration and Bluetooth connectivity.

Of course, Audi connect delivers award-winning infotainment along with MMI Navigation, if ordered. As the first worldwide auto manufacturer to offer factory installed Wi-Fi for up to eight wireless devices, Audi still sets the bar for connectivity.

The service comes free for six months and then is available for as little as $15 per month. Audi MMI Navigation utilizes Google Earth maps for true aerial views, along with localized weather, news and live fuel prices. Also featured is Google Voice Local Search for info on destinations like restaurants or hotels, pricing and reviews.

MyAudi Destination allows owners to log on to Google Earth from virtually any location in the U.S. and download up to 50 destinations to the vehicle.

Audi also offers real-time Sirius XM Traffic information via enhancements to the Audi MMI Navigation plus system (active Sirius XM Traffic subscription required).

The 2014 Audi SQ5 will be available at US dealers later this summer.
