Akio Toyoda, Kyle Busch behind the wheel of the 2013 NASCAR Camry

Not many presidents of huge corporations get out and drive racecars around the track, but that cannot be said about the president of Toyota, Akio Toyoda. He is known to frequently arrive at large media events driving one of the company’s supercars for an entrance with great fanfare.

Not many presidents of huge corporations get out and drive racecars around the track, but that cannot be said about the president of Toyota, Akio Toyoda. He is known to frequently arrive a large media events driving one of the company’s supercars for an entrance with great fanfare.

Toyoda along with driver Kyle Busch are featured in a new video just posted on the Toyota Racing YouTube site. Busch is the driver of the No. 18 Mars, Inc./Interstate Batteries Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing in the Sprint Cup Series and a perpetual contender for the checkered flag.

In the video, Akio Toyoda takes the Camry around the racetrack with Kyle Busch in the car beside him before the race begins - that is on an empty track. The 2012 Toyota Camry Daytona 500 Pace Car is as highlighted as well as the fact the Camry is a thoroughly American built vehicle, springing from the company's plant in the home of the thoroughbreds, namely the state of Kentucky.

Despite some blurry if still intriguing shots of the pit area and a little footage of the race itself, the video is an entertaining minute and a half. It’s the perfect warmup to the weekend's big race day as we await the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca Cola 600.

Enjoy!
