But thanks to a merger with American aircraft company Volta Volare in August, Spyker appears to be on the mend and they have something to announce.

De Telegraaf's Autovisie got a chance to look at the press conference schedule for the Geneva Motor Show in March and saw Spyker had a press conference on March 1st. Spyker CEO Victor Muller told the Dutch publication that all will be revealed at Geneva.

What could the announcement be?

Autovisie speculates that Spyker could be showing a new electric sports car. Part of this comes from the merger with Volta Volare which specializes in building very efficient airplanes with low emissions. Also, before Spyker was in deep trouble, they had gotten a $33 million investment from Chinese brand Youngman for a number of projects. One of those projects was an electric sports car.

There is also the possibility of Spyker showing a production version of the B6 Venator first shown at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
