Polestar Adds More Punch To Volvo's T6 Engine

You have decided to go with the Volvo's T6 engine in the S60, V60, XC60. But you wished there was a bit more performance. Polestar, Volvo's tuning arm may have the solution for you.

Recently, Polestar rolled out a number of enhancements for the XC90 equipped with the T6 that focuses on improving overall driveability. Called Polestar Performance Optimisation, it has now become available on the S60, V60, and XC60.

The Performance Optimisation improves five key areas of the T6 powertrain,

  • Throttle response
  • Mid-range engine performance
  • Speed of gear changes
  • Optimised gearshift timing
  • Off-throttle functionality

It doesn't hurt that the optimisation boosts T6's power figures of 302 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, to 306 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque.

”The already powerful and agile T6 AWD models become even more dynamic and responsive to drive with the Polestar Optimisation. We have spent countless hours on creating a balanced package for performance oriented Volvo drivers, using the same philosophy and methods as for our race and performance cars,” said Thed Björk, racing and development driver for Polestar Cyan Racing.

You'll be able to get the Performance Optimisation on any new or recently bought S60, V60, and XC60 at your local Volvo dealer for $1,495.
