The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Office of Defect Investigation (ODI) has opened a case into these two models after receiving a number of complaints saying the vehicle rolled away from a parked position.

The complaints state the transmission was put into park, but none had their parking brakes on. Five complaints said this problem resulted in injuries - four involving being hit by the driver's door and one being pinned against a garage wall.

These two models feature a rotary knob selector for the transmission. According to NHTSA, about 39,000 vehicles may be affected in this investigation. NHTSA is telling owners to engage the parking brake for the time being while the investigation is on going.

This isn't the only automaker with vehicles rolling away. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has two models, the 2014-2016 Dodge Durango and 2013-2017 Ram 1500 for the same issue.
