The Jaguar XKR, All good things must come to an end!

The 2015 XKR is one hot performance sports car but it’s the end of the line for the XKR lineup and Jaguar pulls the curtain with a special “Final Fifty” edition.

The 2015 Jaguar XK comes in a coupe or convertible edition and in three different models: an XK, an XKR, and the XKR-S. However, the XK lineup has run its course and production will come to an end after the 2015 models. Almost every aspect of the XK line has been upgraded, including the Electronic Active Differential (Handling), High Performance Braking System, and Adaptive Dynamics (Suspension System). Bottom line is this Jaguar has lost weight, added a track-tuned suspension, and opened up the exhaust and is ready to turns some heads at your local muscle car show!

Powered by the 5.0 liter V8 equipped with 510 horsepower the XKR merges raw power and luxury comfort unlike many sports cars on the road today, but for the more serious performance junkie, the XKR-S has you covered. The XKR-S beefs the engine up to 550 horsepower thanks to the Supercharged V8 engine that also produces 502 lb-ft of torque in the 2500 to 5500 rpm range! It’s capable of zero to 60 mph in a mere 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 186 mph and is EPA rated at 22 mpg highway.

If the XKR isn’t loaded enough for your taste, there are several option packages loaded with a wide range of goodies including the Dynamic Pack, Black Pack, Bright Pack, and Performance Pack each of which cater to your desires. Jaguar says “The XK is a Grand Tourer with the heart and soul of a sports car. Enjoy refined performance, superb luxury and convenience of 2+2 seating. All three models have a lightweight advanced all-aluminum body structures and are powered by 5.0 liter V8 engines”.

The last editions of most great things are always worth more and are highly sought after, and Jaguar has decided to follow with an old tradition. The “Final Fifty” of the XKR will consist of 25 XKR Coupes and 25 XKR Convertibles and will also carry unique badging and components. These special editions are similar to how Jaguar paid tribute to the last fifty E-Type roadsters in 1974 and they are sure to be just as collectible to the loyal Jaguar enthusiast. They will only be available in “Ultimate Black Paint” and Piano Black Veneer trim.
