Why Subaru Outback is Voted Best Wagon in Russia

The 2016 Subaru Outback is a top wagon choice around the globe. Why do the Russians think it’s the best?

The 2016 Subaru Outback is not only popular here in the U.S., but it’s the top wagon in Russia. The Outback just won the best wagon award in the all-terrain category in the “2016 Russia Car of the Year" National Awards. It’s not the first award for the Subaru Outback in Russia.

Many awards for Outback

The multi-purpose Outback has picked up the same award in Russia in 2011, 2007 and 2005. In Russia, the multi-purpose wagon has again confirmed its status as the best in its segment. In the annual "Automotive Journalists Professional Award" Outback won in 2008, 2007, 2006 and 2005. The wagon also received two awards "SUV of the year award” in "automotive journalists Annual Professional Award" in 2008, 2007, 2006 and 2005, and received two awards "SUV of the year 2006 and 2008.

The 2016 just won the popular vote from readers of the "At the wheel” Grand Prix magazine in Russia. More than 20,000 readers of the Russian magazine chose the best of the best winners. The Subaru wagon received the largest number of votes and was chosen the best for its “outstanding technical characteristics.” Those technical characteristics would include the vehicle’s Boxer engine, its all-wheel-drive system, X Mode off-road system and its safety features.

The largest number to vote for a car award in the world

The annual national award "Car of the Year in Russia”, draws the largest number of participants for a car competition not only in Russia but anywhere in the world. The winners are determined by popular vote. This year, the voting was done by close to one million people (934,326) from 86 regions in Russia.

The 2016 Subaru Outback is a popular choice by the Russian people who like its versatility and all-wheel-drive capabilities in the cold north regions of the country. It wins the best wagon award in the all-terrain category. It seems to be a popular wagon all over the globe.
