Subaru has announced pricing on the 2017 Outback wagon and 2017 Legacy sedan. How much do they get bumped in price? 2017 Outback now starts at $26,520 (including destination), an increase of $650. Both models also get new Reverse Automatic Braking and High Beam Assist safety technologies.

New safety tech

New for 2017, Limited and Touring trim models get safer. There both receive Reverse Automatic Braking, which detects objects when reversing and automatically triggers an alert and brakes the vehicle to avoid a collision. High Beam Assist is now standard for 2017.

Outback Touring

A new flagship Touring trim is coming for the 2017 Outback. Consumers can get either the 2.5-liter four-cylinder or the 3.6-liter six boxer engine. The 2.5i trim will cost $36,870, the 3.6R trim will fetch $39,070. It comes with a dark gray grille and machined finished 18-in. wheels with dark gray accents. It also comes with low-profile silver finished roof rails along with lower cladding and chrome Outback badging to set it apart on the outside. A new Brilliant Brown is added as an exterior color option.

Inside, all Touring models will feature new Java Brown perforated leather-trimmed upholstery, door panels, and armrests with contrasting ivory stitching. It also gets an exclusive woodgrain interior finish with piano-black switch panel accents. A heated steering wheel comes standard on the new Outback Touring. It also debuts Subaru’s auto reverse braking safety feature.

Legacy 2.5i Sport

The new 2017 Subaru Legacy Sport 2.5i is a new model with a few exterior and interior styling upgrades. The Legacy 2.5i Sport trim will cost consumers $26,815. Outside, it features a dark gray grille, fog lights with gloss black housings, and newly designed 18-in. sport-styled wheels. Other Legacy Sport exterior styling upgrades include chrome-accented rocker trim and high luster silver-finished turn-signal mirrors.

Inside, the new Legacy Sport trim gets a two-tone pairing of gray and black cloth upholstery with blue stitching on the seats, door panels, and steering wheel. It also comes with a carbon fiber pattern dash and door panel trim along with piano-black door switch panels and steering wheel switches.

The 2017 Subaru Outback and Legacy models get price increases along with new safety technology and two new trims. Both models will begin arriving in showrooms in July.
