Subaru adds Stitcher entertainment to STARLINK in-vehicle technology

Subaru announced that U.S. owners of 2015 Subaru Outback, 2015 XV Crosstrek, 2015 Legacy and 2015 Impreza models equipped with STARLINK will get a new Stitcher experience with their in-vehicle technology. The Stitcher is an entertainment audio programming that also features on-demand news, sports with access to more than 40,000 radio shows, live radio stations and podcasts from sources including CNN, Fox, NPR, CBS, AP and The Wall Street Journal.

At the New York International Auto Show, Subaru displayed the new STARLINK technology on a 2016 Forester. Now, 2015 Outback, XV Crosstrek, Legacy and Impreza come standard with STARLINK in-vehicle technology that puts news, food, weather, music, podcasts, audio books, and other multimedia content into their vehicle. Stitcher entertainment audio programming is now added and it’s powered by Deezer, a global on-demand audio provider currently serving over 16 million users in over 180 countries.

Subaru says owners can access Stitcher via their vehicle’s dashboard display, when connected to an iOS or Android based smartphone with the Subaru STARLINK app installed on Outback, XV, Legacy and Impreza vehicles.

No software updates needed with STARLINK

Stitcher is a cloud-based system that allows integration of services and lets listeners create a playlist of their favorite shows with the latest episode and can get personalized recommendations based on their listening habits. Subaru STARLINK is unique in that new partners can be integrated into the app and customers enjoy the benefits immediately, with no software updates required.

Stitcher is available now on 2015 Subaru Outback, 2015 XV Crosstrek, 2015 XV Crosstrek Hybrid, 2015 Legacy, and 2015 Impreza, models equipped with Subaru STARLINK. Subaru will soon feature STARLINK updates including Sirius XM Connected Vehicle Services and AT&T 4G LTE network capability, for improved connectivity, in select 2016 Subaru models.
