Sneak peek: 2014 Subaru WRX and WRX STI

Subaru has released an all-new 2014 Impreza WRX and WRX STI interactive online brochure to give fans a sneak peek at the high-performance Impreza.

Subaru performance fans can check out the 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX and WRX STI before its official release with a new online interactive brochure. The newly released dynamic online brochure offers 24 pages cool interactive tools where fans can zoom in, bookmark pages or print all or select pages and share online.

The 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX and WRX STI haven’t been officially released but fans can get a sneak peak at the new models. There are cool pics, interactive content, and videos available to check out. The WRX STI has been around for two decades and for fans it’s about a passion for these performance cars. Six exterior colors are available and the cars can be built to your specifications both inside and out.

There is also a motorsport history timeline available to see the racing history that began in 1990 with the WRC in Kenya with a Legacy. For the 2014 model year, Subaru WRX STI will get the same 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with 305 horsepower and 290 lb ft of torque. That shouldn't be a problem, because of its power-to-weight ratio, the STI quarter-mile acceleration times match those delivered by some muscle and exotic sports cars.

Last year Subaru updated the Boxer engine with a higher boost turbocharger and larger intercooler for increased performance. It still comes with the highly-capable Subaru Symmetrical AWD system. Performance fans have one transmission choice, a six-speed manual with coated synchromesh gears.

The WRX STI boxer engine also gets dual active valve control that utilizes two camshafts, one for the intake and one for exhaust. The design allows the performance engine maximum flow in and out. It also gets Brembo high-performance ventilated front and rear brakes, and a performance-tuned four-wheel independent suspension.

The WRX STI comes with Multi-mode Vehicle Dynamic Control for the driver to switch from Normal to Traction depending on conditions and when the driver wants more control and performance. It will allow the car to be driven closer to its limits. It also features a Driver Controlled Center Differential to optimize the distribution of power.

Fans can also connect with WRX and WRX STI enthusiasts worldwide with more than 25 organizations around the globe. The online brochure has links to connect with others for rallies, events or just to talk about their favorite mods. There is also the “Love with no limits” site for a connection to owners and the life they live page.

Subaru has not announced pricing or exactly when the 2014 Impreza WRX and WRX STI will be in U.S. showrooms, but fans can check out the new interactive brochure and get all the details ahead of the official launch.
