The all-new 2017 BMW Alpina B7 xDrive has been announced by BMW and it’s the ultimate luxury sedan. What sets this car apart from the rest?

It’s BMW’s version of the M7 if they had one. The 2017 BMW Alpina B7 xDrive is the driving machine that most Americans can’t afford but they sure would like to own one. Even if you aren’t into luxury sedans from Europe, this one will get anyone’s attention because there’s something for everyone. It’s like an M4 for the performance enthusiast and a comfortable luxury sedan for the family.

A performance enthusiasts dream saloon

If you are into high-performance hold on. This luxury four-door will sprint from 0-60 mph with an incredible acceleration time of just 3.6 seconds. That’s 0.8 seconds faster than its predecessor and has a top speed of up to 193 mph (preliminary figure). It’s powered by a 4.4-liter V8 power plant pumping out 600bHP and 590 lb-ft of torque. It comes with twin-scroll turbochargers and high-performance technology derived from BMW’s M division. How’s that for performance?

xDrive all-wheel-drive

While most high-performance sedans come with rear-wheel-drive, the 2017 BMW Alpina B7 gets BMW’s xDrive for all-weather capability. You won’t have to worry about the car sitting in your garage during inclement weather. This car won’t leave you stranded on the side of the road. It features a unique distribution of drive power between the front and rear wheels for maximum traction and control.

What ride do you want?

Are you looking for a luxurious ride or sporty driving dynamics? BMW Alpina B7 offers both. Driver and passengers get an exceptional range of driving experiences. This luxury sedan comes with suspension technologies that offers the ultimate ride comfort. Adjustments allow the driver to dial in the exact drive dynamics they want. It rages from long-distance cruising comfort to sporty and dynamic for the performance enthusiast. BMW says there’s a special ALPINA Sport+ Mode adjusting all vehicle, drivetrain and suspension settings to maximum dynamic performance lowering ride height by 0.8 inches at the touch of a button.

Interior comfort

You won’t find many luxury sedans more comfortable than the BMW Alpina B7. It features high-end hand-finished Nappa leather, Myrtle Luxury Wood, comfort heated and cooled seats, a leather-covered instrument panel, ceramic inserts on selected control elements and soft close doors. Other features that make driving this car effortless include a full-color Head-Up Display, a rear view camera, the latest BMW navigation and communication and infotainment systems.

What’s the cost of the new 2017 BMW Alpina B7 xDrive? BMW will announce the pricing closer to dealer launch. Look for a price around $140,000. The luxury sedan will be available in September 2016. Stay tuned.
