5 Exclusive Subaru Performance Cars You Don’t Want to Miss [Gallery]

If you didn’t go to the Wicked Big Meet in Stafford Springs, CT, here’s 5 must-see performance Subarus. Subaru Tecnica International (STI) showcased exclusive vehicles at WBM this past weekend. Check out the JDM-only WRX STI S207, rally legend Colin McRae's WRC98, an Impreza 22B, 2011 WRX STI IOM record car and an Impreza WRX Type RA.

2016 WRX STI S207 NBR Challenge Edition

You can’t get this limited edition WRX STI in the U.S. It’s only for the Japan market. Only 400 units will be produced. Built to honor the Nurburgring 24-hour race win last year, this vehicle features a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine producing 325hp, 19-inch forged BBS wheels, 6-piston Brembo brakes, Recaro seats, and an ultra-quick steering rack.

1998 Impreza WRC98

Colin McRae drove this WRC car for Subaru. The two-door widebody Impreza was built by Prodrive for the 1998 World Rally Championship season. It features a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing approximately 300hp and 340 lb-ft of torque.

1998 Impreza 22B-STI Version

This two-door first-generation Impreza is one of the rarest and most desirable Subaru vehicles ever built. Only 424 units were sold worldwide. It features a 2.2-liter turbocharged boxer producing approximately 276hp. It comes with handmade wide body fenders and an adjustable wing.

2011 WRX STI Isle of Man Record Car

This 2011 WRX STI was driven by Mark Higgins and broke the 21-year-old lap record for production cars at the Isle of Man TT mountain course. It features modifications for safety, adjustable suspension, upgraded brake pads, straight exhaust, and street-legal tires. Otherwise the STI is a stock U.S.-spec 2011 WRX STI.

1997 Impreza WRX Type RA

This right-hand-drive WRX Type RA is a Japan-spec model. It features a 2.0 liter turbocharged boxer engine producing approximately 260hp. This vehicle was driven in the 1999 Michelin One Lap of America by Sport Compact Car magazine journalists. They placed 3rd in class and 15th overall in the Impreza.

Subaru also brought the new 2017 Subaru BRZ Series.Yellow Special Edition to Wicked Big Meet where it made its first public appearance. It’s the largest gathering of Subaru enthusiasts in America and held at Stafford Motor Speedway in Stafford Springs, CT. The Series.Yellow will arrive in Subaru showrooms sometime in 2017.
