2015 Subaru WRX STI Rally car pumps up the thrill level [video]

Subaru has a long history in rally racing and the 2015 WRX STI rally car is the latest in a long line of successful cars for Subaru. Subaru's WRX STI SRT USA team of David Higgins and Craig Drew is the duo we hear about the most when it comes to rally racing, but Subaru is the car of choice for top privateers.

The new 2015 Subaru WRX STI rally car made its debut at Sno* Drift Rally and the new STI didn’t disappoint the SRT USA team. David Higgins piloted the new car to a quick first victory and was impressed with the new 2015 WRX STI in the snow. Automobile Magazine was also impressed and took a few shots and drove the 2014 car before the event. Here’s a new video of the 2015 STI Rally car in the snow.

Vermont SportsCar spent the last year working on the new car for SRT USA. The new 2015 model has been improved over the outgoing 2014 championship model and it took David Higgins and Craig Drew to a sweeping victory at Sno* Drift Rally.

The new generation STI has spent the last year in development of the new chassis. According to SRT USA, the chassis is significantly better than the outgoing model that has performed so well. Lance Smith, team owner, said, “We spent nearly a year in development of the new chassis, and the results are very impressive. The 2015 STI is showing better performance out of the gate compared to our last generation of rally car.”

Automobile Magazine’s Marc Noodeloos was able to take the STI for a spin and says, “The 2015 Rally America STI looks pretty much like a normal STI - it's not. The hopped-up 2015 Subaru WRX STI was fast and controllable, even on unpredictable, icy terrain, and we walked away even more impressed by rally car drivers.”
