2015 Mercedes S-Class Convertible coming with innovative headlights
A new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Convertible based on the S-Class Coupe that was revealed in Frankfurt has been confirmed for a 2015 arrival, and it's coming with a bright new feature. Mercedes-Benz chief of product development, Thomas Weber, told Automotive News Europe recently that a new S-Class Convertible is in the works. The drop-top S-Class will be based on the S-Class Coupe that was just recently unveiled at Frankfurt IAA. The new convertible version is expected to go on sale in Europe sometime in 2015.
We know the S-Class Coupe will also be a production model and will arrive before the rag-top version and will be available in European showrooms in early 2014. Automotive News is reporting the 2015 Convertible will be powered by two high-performance engines. It will be fitted with either a twin-turbocharged V-8 or twin-turbocharged V-12 engine.
This will make the new S-Class Convertible the fastest S-Class convertible ever produced. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Convertible has been absent from the lineup since 1971. The W111 Cabriolet model was produced between 1961 as the 220SE and 280SE 3.5 when it was dropped from the lineup in 1971.
