2013 Shelby GT350 and GT500 Super Snake roll into Vegas

The 2013 Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT500 Super Snake roll into Las Vegas for the Shelby American 50th Anniversary Tour grand finale.

Two of the latest cars to come out of Shelby American, the 2013 Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT500 Super Snake will be on hand in Las Vegas this weekend for automotive enthusiasts to see. Shelby American is bringing its 50th anniversary tour finale home to Vegas after weaving its way across the country in celebration of five decades of the Shelby Cobra. Fans will get a first look at the 2013 GT350, GT500 Super Snake as well as the limited edition 50th Anniversary models.

The supercars will return home to the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction for the final stop on the tour. The event is scheduled September 19-22, 2012, at the Madalay Bay Four Season Hotel in Las Vegas. The 50th anniversay of the Shelby Cobra is a significant milestone in the history of Shelby.

John Luft, president of Shelby American said, “We’re excited to celebrate our tour grand finale at our home base and showcase the iconic anniversary line up. It’s also the perfect setting to give auction visitors a first-hand look at some of our most talked about new cars like the 2013 Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT500 Super Snake. This will be one of the most important stops of our nationwide tour and the last chance to be part of Shelby history.”

The 2013 Shelby GT350 and GT500 Super Snake are debuting for the first time publicly in Las Vegas. Performance enthusiasts will get to see the cars new styling and added performance. The new 2013 GT350 is offered as a coupe or convertible, and comes with three engine options. A 430 horsepower normally aspirated engine, or either a Ford Racing supercharged 525 hp or 624 hp version.

The 2013 Shelby GT500 Super Snake is an ultra-high-performance supercar. The Super Snake is motivated by Ford’s new 5.8L supercharged V8, which is the most powerful American production V8 on the planet. For 2013 it gets newly designed wheels and upgraded front and rear fascia’s. The 5.8-liter V8 comes in two horsepower ratings. The new Snake can be ordered with a rather tame 662 horsepower or 850 horsepower that will melt the new aluminum wheels.

The main attraction Collector Car Auction will begin each morning at 11 a.m. Sept. 20-22. Other activities through Saturday evening include attendee Ride N’ Drives, Automobilia Auctions and Meguiar’s Car Care Seminars.

The 2013 Shelby GT350, and Shelby GT500 Super Snake as well as the limited edition 50th Anniversary models can be seen at the Madalay Bay Four Season Hotel in Las Vegas this weekend.
