Watch Scott Pruett Crash the Lexus RC F at 24 Hours of Daytona

Want to see a very special Lexus RC F coupe crash? Look no further.

Lexus is taking the new RC F coupe racing. Racing without crashing is called fishing, but the Lexus is definitely racing based on this video from the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona.

The 24 Hours of Daytona has been run since 1962. The race’s website says that, “The Rolex 24 Hours of DAYTONA is notoriously merciless on both driver and machine as sleep-starved crews perform mechanical miracles. From sunrise to sunset, fans will watch drivers battle an army of rivals that span the auto racing universe in the first IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race of the season.”

Reports are that the Lexus developed problems before heading head-on into the crash barrier. Pruett seemed unharmed and walked away from the car on his own power.

Lexus is racing the RC F V8-powered coupe in a number of different racing series. The RC F is participating in the IMSA Weather Tech SportsCar Championship. In addition, Lexus has been involved with the Australian V8 Supercars racing series.

The Lexus RC F for the street packs a 467 hp V8 engine which drives the rear wheels through one of the best transmissions we have ever tested on a racetrack.

The race was won by Jeff Gordon in a Porsche.
