MINI United 2012 bash will be anything but small

MINI’s 4rth open air festival of all things MINI will kick off May 11th and run through three fun packed days

Few car brands have as much owner enthusiasm as MINI. The English favorite of days gone by, resurrected in the modern age by BMW, has die-hard fans and also new owners who just like to have a good time. Both types of MINI fans will find fun at this year’s MINI United 2012 bash. The party starts May 11th and will run through the 13th. Past MINI events have drawn crowds of more than 25,000. The event will be hosted by Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, France. F1 fans will recognize this venue as the location of past Formula One races.

Racing will be a part of this event as well. There will be a variety of MINI races for fans to enjoy. Those brave enough to risk a little paint swapping can race their personal car on the circuit in the “Race Your MINI” event. There will also be expert drivers offering clinics and new MINI test drives at the event to ensure that fans get to actually enjoy the cars. Stunt shows will one highlight of the MINI car experience. Vintage and modified MINIs shown off in the aptly names “Beauty Parking” will round out the vehicle experience.

The event would not be so popular if it were simply another car show. Attendees of past events were treated to live music and this event is planned to surpass all expectations. The music lineup does a great job of bridging the classic and new MINI cultures. Martin Solveig will be one headliner new MINI fans will look forward to. No word yet on whether Dragonette will join Martin there to say “Hello.” Iggy Pop, who is actually ten years older than the MINI brand, will perform and hopefully show fans the stage dive that he invented back when MINIs were still little.

Food, sporting events, human MINI-pulls, picnics, MINI Club gatherings, and other general revelry will round out the experience. In order to get MINI fans involved in the show themselves there will be a MINI car show where owners can display their ride on stage. BMW is also planning a new model release at the event. That will be interesting since MINI has seemed to exhaust the possible configurations of the fun-mobile.

The MINI United 2012 festival is sure to exceed all fans expectations in this unique celebration of a unique car.
