Ford's Octane Academy returning for second season - got what it takes?

The competition reality show will be coming back with new episodes for 2013 on the NBC Sports Network and will feature the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST and rally racer Ken Block. Find out how you can sign up to be considered for the show.

The Ford-conceived and Ford-sponsored reality show, Octane Academy, will be returning to NBC for another season. The show will feature the new 2014 Ford Fiesta ST and the return of pro rally racer and Gymkhana 5 creator Ken Block.

The show will also feature returning stars like Formula D champion Vaughn Gittin, Jr. (shown here in the Mustang GT), two-time Global RallyCross and three-time X Games gold medalist Tanner Foust (in the Focus ST), and two-time Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series Pro 2 Unlimited champion and X Games gold medalist Brian Deegan (in the F-150 SVT Raptor).

The show features tire burning, accelerator stomping, amateur near-death experience driving by racing hopefuls who are coached by the stars of the show. Winners of each gauntlet of challenges will lay rubber through to the final episode where camp winners have a showdown to see who is the best.

The ultimate winner receives a racing scholarship and a new Ford vehicle. This gives a jump start to the racing and action sport dreams of the champion, who will have not only won the show, training scholarship, and car, but also have made friendships with some of the biggest names in action racing.

The show is sponsored by Ford and features its prize racers from action sports and is produced and distributed by Alli Sports and NBC Sports Group.

Want to be a contestant on the show? Think you've got the raw talent, adrenaline, and lack of fear that drivers like Gittin, Foust, Deegan, and Block have? You can sign up at octaneacademy.com and send video of your prowess. This may get you invited to a regional casting event where you can show your skills (or lack thereof) in person and try for a slot in one of the crews this season.
