Website Launched for 2011 Chrysler 300

Ahead of its expected Detroit Auto Show introduction, Chrysler has launched a teaser website for the all-new 2011 Chrysler 300. Set to "Cirque du Soleil" style music in the background, the website shows you various interior and exterior images of the Chrysler 300 – just enough to whet your appetite.

The 2011 Chrysler 300

The Chrysler 300 teaser website shows a collection of rear fascia shots, beautiful leather seats that seem to be well-bolstered and that can only imply great handling, an instrument panel that is bathed in a blue backlight, stunning wheels with the new Chrysler logo embossed in the center, and front headlights ringed by LEDs like those found on the latest Audis.

According to WorldCarFans.com, "Under the hood, two engines will be available. The base 3.6-liter V6 will produce 292 hp (218 kW / 296 PS) and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm) of torque. Or perhaps the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 cranking out 370 hp (276 kW / 375 PS) and 395 lb-ft (536 Nm) might tickle your fancy. Regardless of what engine is selected, it will be mated to a five-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive (all-wheel drive will be optional)."

Actually, that last little tidbit seems a tad off because Chrysler is already offering a six-speed transmission in the recently released Chrysler 200. That would seem the more logical transmission for the 2011 Chrysler 300, especially if Chrysler expects it to get decent fuel economy. Time will tell, though, which transmission wins out.
