Ride Along as I Throw the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Around a Road Course

Last week, I had a chance to travel to Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia to test the incredible 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat and while my drive impressions for the world’s most powerful, the world’s quickest and the world’s fastest 4-door sedan will be available later this week – today I bring you a quick video of the testing at the race track.

The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is the world’s most powerful 4-door production sedan ever with 707 horsepower and in running a quarter mile time of 11 seconds flat, it is also the world’s quickest production sedan. Oh, it also has a top speed of 204 miles per hour, making it the world’s fastest production sedan. To show us just how well the new Hellcat Charger performs, Chrysler sent a group of selected members of the media to Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia, where we were free to push this 707hp beast to its limits.

As part of the program, I am not permitted to talk about my impressions of the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat until next week, but I am permitted to show the videos of my time spend piloting the world’s best performance sedan around the race track. In other words, stay tuned for my review of the Charger SRT Hellcat and enjoy this video of a full lap of Summit Point in the 707hp sedan.

A Lap of Summit Point in the Hellcat Charger
As was the case with the media launch of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, the roomier 4-door sedan media drive also took us to a race track. While we drove the car on public roads as well, the time spent at Summit Point offered us a chance to push the car as hard as possible in the safe confines of a closed circuit race track and under the watchful eye of trainer professional driving instructors.

I cant tell you what it was like to drive the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat yet, but I can tell you about the Summit Point track and the video below of the 707hp Charger making one high speed lap of the West Virginia road course.

Summit Point is a fun road course, with opportunities for big speed between turns 9 and 10 and again between turns 10 and 1 with some intricate corners connecting those two high speed straights. This first video begins as I bring the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat out of turn 10 and climb into the throttle to blast down the long front straightaway. Around 22 seconds in or so, the Charger reached speeds in excess of 140 miles per hour before braking hard to make it safely through the first turn.

As I come out of turn 1 with the Hellcat Charger, you can really hear the big supercharger whine and as I carve through the corners of Summit Point, you can clearly hear the blower coming out of the turns. Due to my GoPro being mounted on the outside of the car, there is a great deal of wind noise (especially when Im cranking along at 125mph+), but you can still catch plenty of blower whine and exhaust roar as this brawny sedan rips around the 2 mile road course.

The second video of my time in the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat includes several laps from a different vantage point. My first lap out is a warm up lap, my second lap is all out and the third lap is a cool down lap, but every lap allows you to watch and listen as the world’s most powerful sedan flexes its muscles on the road course.

Crank up your speakers and enjoy!
