Official 2013 Dodge Dart build page live with actual pricing

The Chrysler Group previous offered up an early build page for the new Dodge Dart with preliminary pricing and the note that actual pricing could vary but this morning, the 2013 Dodge Dart build page is live with actual pricing and complete details on the new C segment sedan.

When the first Dodge Dart configurator was launched in February, the Chrysler Group was quick to point out that the Dart build page was strictly for survey purposes and that actual pricing and feature availability could vary. Now that the official 2013 Dodge Dart build page is live, we can see that things indeed did change quite a bit and that includes a substantial decline in pricing between the survey site and the actual configuration site on Dodge.com. We have known for some time what the actual pricing would look like but now that the build page is up and running with official pricing – prospective Dart owners can see exactly how much their ideal compact Dodge sedan will cost.

The official 2013 Dodge Dart build site on Dodge.com only includes the SE, SXT, Rallye and Limited trimline with the R/T and more recently announced Aero package details coming later this year.

The 2013 Dodge Dart SE carries a build site price of $15,995 which does not include the destination charge of $795 so when no other options are chosen; the Dart SE carries an MSRP of $16,790. For comparison, the early Dodge survey site listed a tentative price of $17,100 so even after destination has been added in, the Dart SE is less expensive than originally stated. The Dart SE comes with the 2.0L Tigershark 4-cylinder engine with 160 horsepower and 148lb-ft of torque sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission although a 6-speed Powertech Automatic transmission can be chosen for $1,100. In the preliminary pricing, the automatic transmission option was expected to cost $1,200 so that feature has gotten a bit less expensive.

While the preliminary 2013 Dodge Dart configurator listed 12 exterior colors, there are only 8 listed for the Dart SE. The entry level Dart is available in Blue Streak, Bright Silver Metallic, Bright White, Maximum Steel Metallic, Pitch Black, Redline Red, True Blue and Tungsten Metallic, with all of those paint options coming with no additional charge. From the 12 colors originally listed on the Dart survey site, Winter Chill, Header Orange, Laguna Blue and Citrus Peel are all gone – although Citrus Peel is available for other trimlines. I, for one, am pretty disappointed to see Header Orange not in the lineup - perhaps it will offered on the R/T.

2013 Dodge Dart SE buyers can add Uconnect voice control for $295 or the $995 value group, which adds air conditioning, body colored mirrors, keyless entry and speed sensitive power door locks. When fully loaded, which includes the $95 engine block heater, the Uconnect system, the value group package and destination fee, the Dart SE carries a price of $18,175 ($19,275 with the automatic transmission).

Next in line is the 2013 Dodge Dart SXT which, with destination fees, carries a starting price of $18,790. This includes the same 2.0L Tigershark engine, power mirrors, power door locks, standard air conditioning, 17” aluminum wheels, keyless entry and 7 standard paint options (no True Blue for SXT buyers). The automatic transmission costs the same $1,100 as we saw with the Dart SE but for $1,300, Dart SXT buyers can step up to the powerful 1.4L MultiAir turbocharged engine which, right now, is not available on the build site with an automatic transmission. As was the case with the automatic transmission option for the 2.0L, the turbocharged engine option drops by $100 from what was listed on the preliminary survey site.

The 2013 Dodge Dart SXT comes with a few option packages beginning with the $495 Popular Equipment group that adds a bunch of gadgets including auto headlights, cruise control, a leather wrapped steering wheel, steering wheel mounted audio controls and more. There is also a Premium Audio Group that adds the handsome 8.4” touchscreen, an improved sound system, Sirius satellite radio and more for $1,580 while an Alpine speaker system tacks on another $495. Finally, SXT buyers can decide whether or not to pony up $895 for the power express sunroof. When you check every box in the Dart SXT configurator, it comes with an MSRP of $23,555.

The 2013 Dodge Dart Rallye is the next model in line and with an price including destination of $19,790, it is slightly less expensive than the price of $20,300 that was quoted on the survey site. The Rallye package includes all of the features from the Dart SXT but adds the unique Rallye package body dressing, integrated dual exhaust, projection fog lights and a leather wrapped steering wheel. Like the SXT, the Rallye is available with the $1,580 Premium Audio Package, the $1,300 turbo 4-cylinder engine, the $1,100 automatic transmission (2.0 only) and the $895 sunroof but Rallye buyers can also opt for a set of Hyper Black wheels for $395 while the Popular Equipment Group for the Rallye is slightly less expensive than the package for the SXT with less features bringing about a price of just $295 for the Dart Rallye. Also, Rallye buyers can opt for Citrus Peel exterior paint for no additional charge while inside, the Rallye offers more standard finishes including Citrus Peel and Ruby Red. When fully loaded, the 2013 Dodge Dart Rallye carries an MSRP of $24,750.

The premium trimline right now for the new C segment sedan is the 2013 Dodge Dart Limited which, with destination fees, carries a starting price of $20,985 (the survey site listed the starting price at $21,300). The Dart Limited includes all of the features of the SXT trimline but adds bright grille and door handles, a standard 8.4” touch screen with Uconnect, a 7” reconfigurable gauge cluster, a 10 way driver’s seat, and a rear backup camera. The Limited comes with 9 standard exterior colors including Blue Streak, Bright Silver Metallic, Bright White, Maximum Steel Metallic, Pitch Black, Redline Red, True Blue, Tungsten Metallic and Citrus Peel.

The 2013 Dodge Dart Limited comes with the same optional 1.4L turbo motor for $1,300, the 2.0L automatic transmission, the engine block heater, the power sunroof, upgraded 8.4” touchscreen infotainment system and Alpine speaker system that were offered for the SXT and Rallye but the Limited receives a pair of upgrade packages of its own. The Limited Technology Group adds rain sensitive wipers, park assist, blind spot detection and automatic headlights for $995 while the Limited Premium Group adds dual zone AC, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, leather seats, and remote start for $895. There is also a set of 17” polished aluminum wheels that will set you back an extra $395 along with HID headlights that are also $395 more. When every available option is selected, the 2013 Dodge Dart Limited with the 1.4L turbo motor carries a price of $26,945.
