New Camaro SS with the Edelbrock E-Force Supercharger makes 555rwhp

A new video has hit the internet showing a new Chevrolet Camaro SS fitted with the Edelbrock E-Force supercharger system making a test run on the dyno with impressive results of 555 rear wheel horsepower from this 50-state legal, 93-octane tune.

We talk a great deal about aftermarket performance packages for vehicles like the Ford Mustang, the Dodge Challenger and the Chevrolet Camaro, but in many cases, those discussions are based on the information from the aftermarket manufacturer. In most cases, the details of these aftermarket packages point out that “results may vary”, but for those 2016-2017 Camaro SS owners wondering just how much power you will pick up from the Edelbrock E-Force supercharger setup - here is your answer.

A video posted yesterday by the high performance experts at RDP Motorsport in Ohio shows a new Camaro SS fitted with the Edelbrock E-Force supercharger setup and on a hard run, this muscle car laid down 555 rear wheel horsepower.

Edelbrock E-Force on the Camaro SS
The information on the Edelbrock E-Force package for the 2016-2017 Chevrolet Camaro SS with the LT1 engine indicates that it will make “up to 580 rear wheel horsepower”, but those claims don’t go into specific details as to what all is required to make that kind of power at the wheels. Fortunately, this video takes some of the guesswork out of planning the winter mods for your Camaro SS, as we get to watch (and listen) as this new LT1 muscle car lays down 555.4 rear wheel horsepower.

The heart of the Edelbrock E-Force supercharger package for the 2016-2017 Camaro SS with the LT1 engine is an Eaton TVS2300 supercharger, which is rooted to an integrated intake manifold and hooked to a twin air to water intercooler system. This Camaro has also been tuned with the canned ECU tune for 93 octane gasoline which comes with the supercharger package. Even with the canned tune – which is traditionally more conservative and less powerful than a unique tune – this Camaro makes 555.4 rear wheel horsepower.

Figure that the Camaro SS generally makes around 400-410 rear wheel horsepower, so the owner of this Camaro pickup up around 150 horsepower at the wheels from this bolt-up blower package.

I should point out that results can still vary, as this Camaro SS could have been tested in particularly good weather, but based on this video from RDP Motorsport, this Camaro SS serves as a good example as to what other Camaro SS owners can expect when they buy the Edelbrock E-Force supercharger package for the LT1-powered Chevy muscle car.

In addition to showing us just how much power the Edelbrock E-Force supercharger can add to the 2016-2017 Camaro SS, this video gives us a great chance to hear the blown beast roar through what appears to be the stock exhaust, so crank up your speakers and enjoy!
