Lingenfelter Offers 2 Monster Supercharger Packages for the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28

The Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is the most track capable Camaro of all time, but it is not the most powerful so for those folks who must have the most powerful GM muscle car on the road or the track with the accompaniment of the supercharger whine, the folks at Lingenfelter have introduced two different forced induction packages for the new LS7 Z/28.

When General Motors designed the new Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, their goal was to make it the best street legal yet track capable Camaro of all time. The result was a car that was really just a race car devoid of a roll cage, with the features required to be legal for street use but surprisingly, the new Z/28 is not the most powerful Camaro ever – or even in the current lineup. With the LS7 V8 sending 505 horsepower and 481lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels, the 2014 Z/28 is packs a little less punch than the current Camaro ZL1 with 580 horsepower and 556lb-ft of torque. Mind you, that disadvantage in power didn’t prevent the new Z/28 from turning in a much better time around the famed Nürburgring, but in the world of high performance sports cars- not being the most powerful is kind of a big deal.

Fortunately, anyone who has a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and wants a whole lot more power can turn to the folks at Lingenfelter Performance Engineering for two unique supercharger packages – one from Edelbrock and one from Magnuson - that push the power way, way up. Both of the Lingenfelter z/28 supercharger packages increase the output to 657 horsepower and 582lb-ft of torque while both also costing less than the Lingenfelter 660 horsepower naturally aspirated Z/28 package. There are a few slight differences in the two supercharged kits with the most notable advantage being the fact that the Magnuson package is not legal for street use in California. Also, the fact that both of these packages cost less than the biggest Lingenfelter NA build kind of makes them a budget – while the fact that they are supercharged (this allowing for a boost increase with additional modifications) offers more room for even bigger power. Both of these 657 horsepower supercharger packages start at $10,995 while the 660hp Z/28 NA package starts close to $13,000.

The full details of each 657hp 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 supercharger packages are listed below and you can see that the components of each are very similar. The main differences come in the LPE high flow air intake, the unspecified fuel system upgrades and the exterior badging of the Magnuson package that seemingly don’t come with the Edelbrock package. The Magnuson package also comes with a more extensive warranty – 3 years and 36,000 miles to just 1 year and 12,000 miles for the Edelbrock unit. However, those folks who plan to register their Camaro Z/28 in California cannot go for the Magnuson system but fortunately, they will get just as much power from the Lingenfelter Edelbrock setup.

So, if you have a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and you want enough power to very comfortably outrun the Camaro ZL1 (and most other new cars sold in America) in a straight line, make the call to Lingenfelter to order your new LS7 supercharger package right away so that you can have it back in time to tear up the streets this summer.
