Drive the 2015 Dodge Challenger at Your Local Dealership Now

If you have been waiting to drive the 2015 Dodge Challenger before making your next big purchase, your wait is over as the first full wave of the refreshed Mopar muscle cars have reached dealerships all over the country and if they haven’t reached your local Dodge dealership – they will soon.

I have recently gotten a few emails from readers asking when the 2015 Dodge Challenger will arrive at their local Chrysler Group dealership and based on what Im seeing in person and online, I have good news. It looks as though all of the large Dodge dealerships around the country have gotten a solid stock of next generation Challengers while smaller dealerships have also either gotten a few of their own, or they will be getting some soon. Obviously, very small dealerships in secluded areas may not have a 2015 Challenger just yet, but with truckloads upon truckloads of Challengers leaving the Brampton Assembly Plant every week – every Dodge dealership in the country should have at least one new Challenger on the lot before winter hits.

This means that if you are looking to purchase a 2015 Challenger, but you want to drive it first – it could be time to go meet your new muscle car.

Examples of Local 2015 Challenger Inventory
While I have seen plenty of people around the country posting online about the 2015 Dodge Challenger showing up on their local dealership lots, many people are wondering what kinds of vehicles available around the country. To get a good reference of what is available, I checked the website of my local Dodge dealership, Golling Dodge in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

Thanks to their handy online inventory system, I found that the massive Chrysler Group dealership has 13 new 2015 Challengers in stock. Interestingly, of those 13 Challengers, 5 of them are SXT models with the Pentastar V6, six of them are R/T models with the 5.7L Hemi and two of them are R/T Scat Pack units with the 6.4L Hemi. The Challenger SXT is only available with the 8-speed automatic transmission and all six of the Challenger R/T models are also equipped with the new TorqueFlite automatic. The only manual transmission models are the two Scat Pack Challengers so if you insist on rowing your own gears, buyers in my immediate area will have to “settle” for the 485hp Challenger Scat Pack in either Billet Silver or Sublime Green.

Those local buyers who want the Challenger R/T with the 8-speed automatic can pick from Sublime, Bright White or Blue while SXT buyers can pick from Bright White, Redline Red, TorRed or Blue. In other words, there is a decent collection of colors available, but it looks like red and Sublime are the most popular lot colors in my area.

No Hellcats Yet
While there are more and more 2015 Dodge Challenger units arriving at dealerships around the country every day, those looking to drive and buy a new 707hp Hellcat Challenger shouldn’t get their hopes up. The ordering process and production process of the Hellcat models started after the non-Hellcat models so while the SRT392 models should be showing up sooner, the Hellcat isn’t likely to arrive until later this year. Also, with so many of the Hellcat models being preordered, it might be hard to find a dealership that will hand you the keys unless you have a long and storied history of spending money with that dealership. Unfortunately, if you want a Hellcat as soon as possible, you will need to order one without driving it first – but I can promise you that it is worth the risk.
