2015 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker on Sale Today

When the Chrysler Group rolled out the 2015 Dodge Challenger at the 2014 New York International Auto Show, we didn’t get to meet the Hellcat right away, but we did see a variety of packages including a couple with the awesome new Shaker hood. The Challenger Shaker was reintroduced for the 2014 model year as part of a special edition package, but they proved tough to get when they sold out in less than a week. Based on the popularity of the 2014 Challenger Shaker, prospective buyers were excited at the prospect of being able to buy a 2015 Challenger with the Shaker hood, but when the 2015 models went on sale late last year – the Shaker package was not on the list.

Due to the high number of trimlines and packages for the 2015 Dodge Challenger, the company decided to make the Shaker packages late availability, with the plan to begin selling 2015 Challenger Shaker models in the spring. Well, it turns out that while that groundhog in Pennsylvania doesn’t think that an early spring is coming – the Chrysler Group does.

Starting today, the 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker is available for order, with a price starting at $35,495 plus destination.

“After selling out last year’s Shaker model production in just four days, our hardcore Challenger customers demanded we bring back the Shaker – plus offer more power and more performance,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO, Dodge and SRT Brands. “We listened, and for 2015, the new Dodge Challenger lineup offers the legendary Shaker hood expanded to include our 485 horsepower HEMI V-8 delivering up to 113 more horsepower than last year, plus even more track-proven hardware and technology – a combination our enthusiasts have been waiting for.”

When the 2015 Dodge Challenger went on sale last year, it was offered in SXT, SXT Plus, R/T, R/T Plus, R/T Scat Pack and SRT 392 trim, with the SRT Hellcat models following soon after. Starting today, two more trimlines join that list, with the arrival of the R/T Shaker and R/T Plus Shaker. As you may have guessed, each of these two packages build on the R/T and R/T Plus models, both of which pack the 5.7L Hemi with 375 horsepower and 410lb-ft of torque.

The R/T Shaker (above in Sublime Green) package add the awesome Shaker hood, Satin Black Shaker graphic stripes, chrome Shaker hood badges, a black deck-lid spoiler, Parkview backup camera, “Shaker” startup screen on the infotainment system, Satin Black fuel door, projection fog lights, unique 20 inch wheels with black pockets and black cloth performance seats. More importantly, the R/T Shaker package includes the Super Track Pak, which adds Bilstein shocks, lowering springs, high performance brakes, three mode stability control with full off and three season Goodyear Eagle F1 tires.

2015 Dodge Challenger R/T Plus Shaker
Those who want a little more luxury out of their new Mopar muscle car can now order the 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T Plus Shaker. This includes all of the functional components of the non-plus package and adds Nappa leather performance seats with the Shaker logo on the seat back, a Dodge performance leather steering wheel, the premium UConnect infotainment package and a Super Track Pak button on the center console for quick and easy access to the Dodge Performance Pages timers and gauges.

The 2015 Challenger R/T Plus Shaker is on sale now and the pricing starts at $38,495 plus $995 destination.

Coming Soon: 392 Hemi Scat Pack Shaker
There is still at least one more 2015 Challenger trimline coming, when the 392 Hemi Scat Pack Shaker (above in Silver) goes on sale next month. The 392 Hemi Scat Pack Shaker comes with all of the features of the R/T Plus Shaker model, but the Scat Pack Shaker comes with the 392 cubic inch Hemi, which delivers 485 horsepower and 475lb-ft of torque. This package also includes an active dual exhaust system and Brembo brakes, in addition to all of the badges needed to clearly differentiate the R/T and Scat Pack Shaker models.

When the 2015 Dodge Challenger 392 Hemi Scat Pack Shaker goes on sale next month, it will carry an MSRP of $42,495, which doesn’t include the $995 destination fee or the $1,000 gas guzzler tax for those models with the 6-speed manual transmission.
