The 2013 Ford Fusion sedan will come with four basic trimlines (all packing 4-cylinder engines) but the most efficient non-hybrid configuration is the 179 horsepower 1.6L EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and front wheel drive – offering 25 miles per gallon in the city and 37mpg on the open road. This mill can be mated to either front wheel drive or all wheel drive with the FWD models offering 22mpg around town and 33 on the highway while the AWD models offer the same 22mpg in the city and 31 on the highway.
