The 2013 Dodge Dart revealed ahead of Detroit debut

The 2013 Dodge Dart is expected to make its grand debut at the 2012 North American International Auto Show tomorrow in Detroit but as has become the big trend this year – images and videos showing the sporty new C segment sedan have slipped onto the internet ahead of the big debut.

As you can see in the gallery on the right (click any of the thumbnails to view the whole gallery), the 2013 Dodge Dart has been first shown off in the sporty R/T (Road and Track) trimline along with the Limited trimline that takes more of a luxury approach. The Dart R/T includes a heavily blacked out grille treatment and some satin silver 5-spoke wheels while the Dart Limited has a body colored center section to the grille (serving to separate the upper and lower portions) while a set of chrome wheels adds to the luxury look. More importantly, these images give us a great look at the massive “race track” style taillight that made its debut on the muscular Dodge Charger. We haven’t gotten a look at the interior of the Dart Limited but the interior images included in this first batch show a sharp, sporty interior layout that includes contrasting stitch work throughout along with the super cool lighted dash wrap and other red trim around the interior.

Over the past few weeks, Dodge has teased the 2013 Dart R/T, giving us tightly cropped views of the dash, seats and exterior but now that we have the images and attached video below, we have a complete look at the car that Chrysler hopes will allow their company to compete in the incredibly-tight C segment. Being sporty has become a big part of the C segment along with including more than you would expect and based on these images – the 2013 Dodge Dart will certainly fit the bill of being sporty and the unique interior layout looks to hold more than one would expect from an American C segment vehicle. A massive touch screen is mounted high in the center of the dash, which will likely offer the driver control of the majority of the interior functions from the radio to the heating and air condition systems. Based on these images, it looks like the Dart R/T will benefit from gobs of leather – from the door panels and armrests to the sporty looking seats – with a predominantly black finish featuring red and silver accents throughout.

Based on what we can see in these images and the first video of the 2013 Dodge Dart, this new compact sedan is exactly what Dodge and the Chrysler Group need to go head to head with the likes of the popular Chevrolet Cruze and the Ford Focus. Also, thanks to the trio of powerful-yet-efficient 4-cylinder engines, the 2013 Dart could become a major player in the C segment – something that the Chrysler Group hasn’t been able to offer since the days of the good ol’ Dodge Neon.
