2013 Dodge Dart gets Special Editions, Rallye Appearance packages

The 2013 Dodge Dart isnt competing with the heavy hitters in the popular C segment just yet but with repeated monthly sales records posted over the past few months, the Chrysler Group has offered up some new special edition packages and a new Rallye Appearance package to help better meet customer demand - and to help keep those sales records coming.

The Dodge Dart has been on sale for almost a year now and in designing these new option packages for the sporty compact sedan, Chrysler looked at the most popular options picked and requested by customers over the past 11 months. The result is a pair of option packages for the high volume Dart SXT including a Special Edition package and the new Rallye Appearance package along with a Special Edition package for the top of the line Dart Limited.

"These new Dodge Dart Special Edition packages show how we're listening to our customers," said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO, Dodge Brand. "Since we launched the all-new Dart last June, we've been able to see how customers are ordering their Darts, and as a result, we have simplified our offerings to meet their requests – allowing us to offer them an even better value in the process."

First up is the new Special Edition package for the 2013 Dodge Dart SXT. This popular equipment group adds a black crosshair grille, projection fog lights, projection headlights with dark bezels, LED “race track” tail lights, integrated dual exhaust, a leather wrapper steering wheel, cruise control, a Bluetooth hands free phone system and front passenger in-seat storage. This package carries an MSRP of just $595 so when added to the $18,890 base price (includes destination), the Dodge Dart SXT Special Edition carries a price of $19,485.

Those who want an even spicier looking Dodge Dart SXT Special Edition can opt for the new Rallye Appearance package. This adds a unique blacked out front fascia, Rallye badging and 17 inch Hyper Black aluminum wheels for just $395 so when added to the price of the SXT Special Edition, the Rallye-equipped Dodge compact sedan carries a price of $19,880 - $10 less than the lesser equipped Dart Rallye trimline that helped to launch the model almost a year back. When the SXT is equipped with the Special Edition and Rallye Appearance packages (shown above on the right), it bears a striking resemblance to the Dart Rallye.

Finally, the top of the line 2013 Dodge Dart Limited receives a new Special Edition option that adds all sort of high end interior features into one convenient package. The Limited Special Edition includes a power sunroof, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual zone automatic climate control, Sirius/XM satellite radio, premium Nappa leather seats and Garmin Navigation integrated into the 8.4 inch infotainment touch screen. The Dart Limited Special Edition package also adds LED race track tail lights to spruce up the exterior. This package carries an MSRP of $1,810 so when added to the $20,890 (including destination) price of the Dart Limited – the Limited Special Edition Dart will cost right around $22,700.

There was a point in time where buying a compact American sedan meant that you wanted to pay as little as possible and in turn you got as little as possible but the purchasing trends of the new Dodge Dart show just how much the segment has changed. C segment success is all about how much content an automaker can pack into a vehicle without pricing its vehicles out of the segment and with the new Special Edition packages for the 2013 Dart – the Chrysler Group is offering the most well equipped cars in the segment whether the buyer is looking at the mid-range SXT or the high end Dart Limited.
