Mercedes-Benz MLC 2015 takes aim at BMW X6

Although the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML has just presented to us, the German manufacturer decides to give it a big brother, which should be called C and ML. Its mission is to confront the popular BMW X6.

The upcoming Mercedes-Benz MC will be another way for the German carmaker to face its eternal arch-rival BMW and its X5 and X6 models.

This vehicle will be assembled alongside the Mercedes-Benz GL, ML and R in the U.S. assembly plant in 2015. The plan is located in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. In addition, the manufacturer will invest two billion dollars to modernize the plant so it can built the new Mercedes-Benz MLC.

Thus, the Mercedes-Benz MLC will come to add join the list of other luxury car manufacturers such as Audi, Lexus and other manufacturers who will possibly face the BMW X6.

The Mercedes-Benz MLC would normally show less angular shapes that the ML, reports GuideAutoweb. Perhaps it will opt for a coupe style and elevated five-doors, as is the case for the popular BMW X6.

While this new vehicle is expected for 2015, it would not be surprising to see new luxury car on the market sooner than expected. Perhaps it will come in 2014. It may actually depend on how fast the Mercedes-Benz U.S. International will complete the two million dollar investment in its Tuscaloosa plant.

Following 11-year reign by Toyota's Lexus Mercedes battles BMW for the title of best-selling luxury brand in the United States. Lexus' lead was hampered by latest Japanese earthquake. Through June the company sold only 88,010 cars. For the same period, BMW sold 113,705 luxury vehicles. Mercedes comes second with 110,926.
